Monaco - What to do & wear

Fashion

So if you follow me on instagram @blaisedyer you’ll without a doubt (because I’ve posted circa 4 million photos) realise that I’ve been away in Monaco. I went with my boyfriend for the Formula E and we spent some time with his team Ds Virgin. However, before the race we enjoyed all Monaco had to offer. I’ve been a few times before but I have to say this was probably my favourite. As my lovely instagram followers have been asking about my outfits whilst I was there, I thought I’d run you through my outfits I wore whilst I was there and let you know some of the things we did. If I cant find the exact products, I’ll link you similar products and things I like too. So lets get going!

Outfit 1 – The perfect summer floral dress

Location 1 – Port Hercules

Location 2 – Fontvieille Park and Princess Grace Rose Garden

Lunch SpotLa Saliere

I’d been looking for something flattering, pretty and easy to wear in the hotter weather and I came across this beauty! Those little flowers and embroidered on and I love the frilly details around the layers and the neckline.

On our first day we spent a little time around the pool, as we were kindly staying with Alex’s manager, and then headed off to have a little walk around. Port Hercules is always a classic spot to check out the boats, the clear water and the restaurants that surround it. We headed to La Saliere for a really fresh and healthy lunch. I had the tuna Carpaccio which was delicious.

On the way back to where we were staying in Fontveille, we stopped off at the most gorgeous rose garden! It’s a little haven amongst the sky scrapers and buildings of Monaco. You follow these cute little paths around contemporary sculptures and an array of roses you might know and lots you probably wont, but its honestly so pretty. The garden was first opened in 1984 by Prince Rainier III who made it in memory of his wife Princess Grace (so cute!). But nowadays its much bigger and has over 300 different varieties of rose bushes. Anyway its so beautiful – I have more shots and this one is just from the central water foundation. But its definitely somewhere to go and have a wander!

Outfit 2 – Smart Casual Short White playsuit.

Location & Dinner SpotAvenue 31

This outfit I wore  because I knew we’d be doing a little bit of walking as I wanted to wander down the beach front and look at the scenery and suss out where we were! So wedges are essential. This plasuit wasn’t expensive but transitions so well from day to night. Looking both casual and smart depending on what you pair it with. That’s why I love playsuits. They give you so many options!

Our first night we went out for dinner at Avenue 31 which is just across from the beach and is one of those sleek crisp moden restaurants with not only de-lish food but also wonderfully presented. Alex had what he described as ‘the best steak he’d ever had’ and I had an incredible tuna steak.

Outfit 3 – Pleather Dress & OTK boots

Location – Eze

Not the traditional holiday exploration attire, but I knew Monaco had the possibility to be a bit chilly this time around. Although it wasn’t freezing it was actually the perfect weather to wear this dress that I’ve been wanting to wear! Its not real leather so it’s not sweaty and uncomfortable – the fabric is actually really easy to move about in. I also think this cut is super flattering. The OTK boots stopped the dress from looking too short and again I think theyre so flattering. A short dress with OTK boots = elongated legs!

We went to Eze, where we had been before but I LOVED it. Eze is about 25 minutes away from Monaco and is between Nice and Monaco. Although slightly touristy I cant help but love how you’re literally transported back to the medieval period. Walking up rickety stone streets, through passage ways and archways. There’s even a 5 start hotel set amongst the stone and walls – which would be incredible to stay at, with some amazing views. It’s definitely worth a visit round the little streets and stopping along the way to see the cute shops and art. I went last time in the winter and it was pretty much deserted, which was nice but it didn’t have the gorgeous flowers there were this time.

Outfit 4 – Colourblock Maxi Dress

Location – Casino Square Monaco

I’m obsessed with this dress – I think its so elegant but also interesting and summery! Bright blue, it doesn’t get more summery than that! The sort of V neckline is super flattering for the less breasty and the fact that it goes all the way to the ground creates a really elongated figure. I think this could work as an evening look, but also a more casual but still sophisticated day time look.

Wandering around the casino square area is a little touristy but totally worth seeing. Its like you wouldn’t go to Paris and avoid the Eiffel tower because its touristy would you? The ornate buildings are doorways are truly amazing!

Outfit 5 – Red Halterneck Dress

Location – DS Virgin boat at the Monaco F1 track

I posted on my instagram story asking for help on what to wear for this occasion and the unanimous decision was this cute little red dress. Its flattering and pretty, yet comfortable at the same time. Perfect for a day watching the Formula E. Does anyone else find they just love a certain colour for dresses on them and stick with it? For me its definitely red dresses. Red dresses with a bright red lip!

This was race day! It was amazing to be on the Virgin boat watching as the cars raced past. Funny though how different it is from listening and watching F1 and other racing cars – the noise! Electric cars are a LOT easier on the ears.

Outfit 6 – Sequin Mini Dress

Location – Boat afterparty.

I’d been waiting for an occasion to wear this sparkly number. It was not at all expensive but I think it’s a real statement piece. The low front and back make it quite a saucy lil number, but I used a little tape to make sure nothing was sliding away from me!! Paired with some sparkly heels – the perfect party attire.

I can’t lie I didn’t spend much time at the afterparty. Being back on the boat I started to feel a little sea sick and had to head home early!!

Outfit 7 – White statement jumpsuit

Location – Anjuna Beach Bar

Having said I asked my instagram which outfit I should have worn for the race day – this jumpsuit was a close second. I think its such a unique outfit and I love the bow details on the straps. As we were on the beach again, but at a restaurant for lunch – I thought this outfit gave off quite a sailor kinda look! And hey Im into it. I popped on wedges and my beloved miu miu sunglasses to finish off the look.

For this we were at Anjuna – just outside of Monaco and somewhere I’d been before and its known for getting rather raucous! Anyway the restaurant is set in a cove at the cliff’s foot and is a really beautiful spot. But do note it’s got a long set of stairs down, hence the wedges! The restaurant gives off island vibes from the Indian Ocean with Indonesian statues and tropical plants, surrounded by turquoise chairs (the colours a reminder of the Balinean sea).

Outfit 8 – Red Off Shoulder Dress

Location – Saint Paul de Vence

I cant lie to you this day I was suffering with food poisoning and opted for this dress mainly because it did not touch my stomach! But also it was an extremely hot day so the less clothing the better. Wandering round a cute town, I chose this pretty cute Bardot style dress. I had bought this as a sort of pool side dress, but I think it worked well for a day out. It’s a stretchy cotton material and sometimes a girl has just gotta be comfy.

This gorgeous little town is Saint Paul de Vence and we went with the people we were staying with so it was a really nice day out. It’s maybe 45 minutes away from Monaco, in France. Its one of the oldest medieval towns on the French Riviera. Full of quaint little streets, high bell towers and gorgeous fountains. There’s also some incredible art being sold too. A really beautiful town.

So I hope you guys liked this post, with a little of what we did and also my outfits for the trip. The products are all lined and if I couldn’t find exactly what I wore I’ve linked similar ones that I think you’ll like.
