A Cotswold Escape with SuitSuit
So I'm truly a country gal and live most of the time between London and the Cotswolds, so I thought who better to inform you of the best things to do if you have a few days in the Cotswolds than moi!? I've teamed up with an amazing brand Suitsuit who make THE coolest suitcases and are a welcome change to the mundane cases you see wheeling through airports.
So first of all why got to the cotswolds? Mainly because the the cotswold stone cute houses and the rolling hills are simply beautiful. But its not only the place to go for outdoors living, but there are gorgeous places to stay, some amazing restaurants, pubs full of character and serving insane food, endless miles of cycle-able lanes as well as secluded spas.
When to go? Any season has its allure. Winters are much less crowded and perfect for sitting by the fire at the pub and lower hotel prices. Spring come and see the lambs and fields of daffodils or summer the lush wilderness is great for walks and longer evenings mean you have chance for a drink along the rivers.
Where to stay?
The Barn Cotswolds. Where all these photos were shot. The Barn Cotswolds is the perfect place to stay with family or friends and is located in the quaint market town of Lechlade and right on the river Leach, so you're never short of a scenic route to walk or cycle in the area. The Barn itself has room for plenty, has access to two other barns on the property one for games and one which houses the gym. Spa packages and styling weekends are offered, so if you're not the outdoorsy type there is no need to even leave!
Where to eat?
My two recommendations are both country pubs that serve absolutely incredible food. The Five Alls is a slightly bigger more restaurant style pub in the picturesque village of Filkins and The Plough is the perfect lunch spot mid cycle ride and in the evenings the beautiful back dining room serves delicious gastro pub.
The Five Alls - Filkins
The Plough inn - Kelmscott
Things to do:
Spa at Barnsley House - Down a winding path away from the main House (where you can also enjoy lunch/dinner) you will find the secluded spa. This is one of the most gorgeous looking spa's I've ever visited, sitting in the heated hydrotherapy pool outside and watching the cows in the nearby field feels sort of surreal and completely relaxing. Inside; the place oozes cotswold chic and is so peaceful. Indulge in any number of their treatments.
Healthy Lunch at Daylesford Organic - With other locations in London, you probably know of Daylesford. This one is set amongst rolling fields and is a great lunch spot.
Cookery courses at Dancing Trousers - I did a course here with my mum and it was a really fun day, a chance to learn something new whether that be how to make macaroons, Italian food or bake bread. Hosted by the lovely Alexis Thompson who after being on master chef followed her dreams and set up her cookery school from her home and teaches in the most fun and professional way. Totally recommend.
These are just a few of my recommendations for things to do in the Cotswolds. And don't forget if you're heading to the Cotswolds, or anywhere else for that matter, be sure to check out Suitsuit for some gorgeous suitcases to add some flare to your luggage. Suitsuit is making luggage the number one fashion accessory for travellers. The cute, cheerful prints I love and the case I have in the pictures is actually the pistachio daisies case and I have used one of their covers in the jungle fever print. The removable cover means you can keep your bag safe, clean and damage free. Not to mention i LOVE this print.
What I'm wearing:
Hat - New Look
Coat - The Savile Row Company
Boots - (I have no idea where my grandma got these amazing red, heeled wellies but they surprised me because I LOVE them)
