NYC Skyline - Dressing & Fragrances for the occasion

Fashion

For the past week or so I’ve been in New York with my boyfriend who was racing with at the Formula E race in the city. It was amazing to experience, but also so lovely to explore the city with him and check out all NYC had to offer us, including some incredible views. Travelling round the world, experiencing new things and dressing for each location is something I love experimenting with, and why stop at just the outfit, I never forget to pair my perfume – so I wanted to share with you one of my chosen outfits and perfume combos from the trip.

For the first week we were staying at 1 Hotel Brooklyn, which is such an amazing location, and somewhere I really never will forget. Wandering up to the rooftop was a view to behold. The Manhattan skyline and Brooklyn Bridge in all their glory. The view was spectacular morning through to night. Each hour bringing something new – clouds, rain, sunshine, sunrise and sunset.

When travelling – whether for a holiday, pleasure, work or to support someone else, you’ve still got to consider dressing for the occasion. This can be tricky – should you stand out and contrast with your surrounding? Should you echo what is the norm for your destination? Or should you go with the feeling and the vibe of where you are? These are all important questions and none of them are right or wrong. But for me – the answer varies for where I am and the type of look I want to portray in that moment. But something I think really enhances dressing for the occasion, is the right fragrance and choosing the right fragrance can sometimes be tricky.

From way up here I felt the desire to dress in a way that complimented my surroundings; something light, floaty and encompassing the never-ending sky, water and incredible views. I opted for this gorgeous pink dress as a subtle contrast to the blue sky and the blue water. So now my scent was to be picked. I’ve recently been enjoying the new fragrance from Armani – Sky di Gioia Eau da Parfum.

So now my scent was to be picked. I’ve recently been enjoying the new fragrance from Armani – Sky di Gioia Eau da Parfum.

I find Sky di Gioia such a lovely fresh scent, ideal for an occasion like this. This is due to rose being the heart of the fragrance, pair this with some fruity fresh lychee and green pear, the luxury of peony and the white musk helvetolide and you’ll find yourself the perfect combination of fresh and uplifting scents. Being around a gorgeous view and water always makes me feel bright, light and positive, I like my fragrance to mirror that.

The bottle itself comes in a gorgeous rounded, almost pebble like bottle, this takes inspiration from the Mediterranean sunrise. A pale pink shade and reflective – does it get anymore perfect for a location like this?

I find wearing something that allows you to feel so in tune with your surroundings, allows you to enjoy and take in exactly where you are even more so. That’s why Sky di Gioia was my perfume of choice.
