Goodwood Revival: A girls point of view

So if you’ve never heard of Goodwood revival; its all about classic cars and all things vintage. The rules go that you were clothes inspired by or from the thirties through to the seventies. And what I love about this event is that people go all out. You genuinely believe for the weekend that you have been transported to another period all together. There is a big focus on motorsports at the event: checking out all the incredible cars and motorbikes, but there is so much more to this event for everyone to enjoy.

Need ideas for what to wear?
Try a 60s, 70s vibe with a little mini dress and the classic white boots. I opted for flat black boots because my feet were utterly dead after the previous days in heels. The best accessories for Goodwood are headscarves, pearls and chunky earrings (for this 70s look).

Another look I love is the 1950s land girl look or even a vintage air hostess. There’s plenty to look at online for inspiration and I even started making a pinterest the year before to give me ideas. Check my pinterest here.

If I don’t care about the cars what can I do?

Well if you couldn’t care less about the cars theres still a whole lot more you can do! Explore the vintage stalls, I even picked up a new pair of sunglasses to wear, but you’ll find plenty of faux fur, racing memorabilia and other vintage goods.

Time for a pamper?

Head over to the cutest hair salon around. Bettys hair salon provides full hair styling all inspired by the era of your choice and set in the most gorgeous pink salon. (These shots were taken outside).

Need an adrenaline rush?

Grab yourself some candy floss and pop your bottom on the merry go round or the other fair ground rides on offer. You’ll get yourself some very retro shots along the way.

Fashion forward?
Over the weekend there are a couple of fashion shows you can attend where you’ll see the best of the best vintage fashion. Lights camera action.

Love the kitsch cooking scene?

Watch live cookery shows from a vintage cooking show set. Settle in and enjoy this very cute set up and all the delicious delights they create.

And if non of that tickles your fancy there’s the huge array of cars, motorbikes and aircrafts to look at as well as races to follow.

This event really is like no other, with everyone dressing to impress. So don’t be afraid to go all out with your outfits. It’s a really fun theme and you’ll want to come back year after year.
